Macro paper...

I'm working on a macro photography module and I have to submit 4 images of different subjects. I am really trying to avoid pictures of flowers or bugs. My high school art teacher once told me the hardest thing to draw is a screwed up ball of paper. I wondered if the same was true of photography so today I gave it a go.
The setup was simple: a sheet of paper that I twisted and crumpled, a desklamp for lighting, and a mirror tile to create reflections.
What I am struggling to decide is whether the results are cool or not. I would really appreciate some honest feedback on this one because I'm really on the fence. If you have time, give it to me with the gloves off, I'm a big girl...
